When Zeis and I are back in New York, we often spend time looking for activities, events, restaurants, wine bars or anything else that revolves around Spain and Spanish culture. It helps Zeis feel like he’s not so far from home and I just enjoy it all.
One of the latest Spain activities we found in New York is the Flamenco Festival. The Flamenco Festival takes place every year and every year it is a spectacular event with different performances. These performances range from music and dance to films. This year the Flamenco Festival will be taking place at various venues throughout the city. New York City Center, Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Joe’s Pub and Instituto Cervantes. Many of the performances begin or end the evening with a flamenco dance lesson as well as tapas and Spanish wine and the opportunity to meet other Spain enthusiasts.
Some of the events will feature Estrella Morente, Eva Yerbabuena, Rocio Molina and Tomatito, a few famous Spanish Flamenco performers. Zeis has got his eye on seeing Tomatito.
The festival begins March 6th at New York City Center and runs through March 23rd. Please check the calendar for the exact times and locations. We are sure you will not want to miss out! And if you need a bit more inspiration, here is a link to watch…
